First up I wanted to show you this colourful card I made with the Adventures Ahead Set. I started off by creating the blue background panel by sprinkling some Brusho onto wet watercolour paper and watching the colours magically spread and blend. When this was dry I trimmed down a strip to adhere to the left of my card, and used some of the leftover to stamp the clouds onto with white embossing powder before cutting them out and using them as embellishments.
For the hot air balloon itself, I stamped and embossed it onto watercolour paper and then used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens to colour it. I adhered this to my card as the focal piece using foam tape to give it extra dimension.
The second project I made is something perhaps a little bit different for this blog and that’s because I made a series of cards to be used in a pocket-page album.
When I saw the Avacado Family Set I just knew it was perfect timing for me since I am currently pregnant with my fourth child and I’ve been meaning to start a new album for this baby! This gave me the perfect excuse to make a cover page for the Project Life album that I plan to continue adding to as the pregnancy progresses, and of course after the baby is born.
I wanted my page to be brightly coloured and so I’ve stamped the Avocado people onto different patterned papers before trimming them out. For the main card in the top right I wanted to represent our family as it currently is, so I masked off the avocado seed from one of the larger stamps so that it became the father figure, while leaving the seed in with the other one so that it would represent me with my pregnant belly! Then I stamped three other little avocados for each of my other children.
I also made a couple of other cards for my page using similar techniques of stamping onto patterned paper and cutting them out. I used some of the sentiments to add captions to the cards, stamping them in black ink. Over all, I think this page makes me very happy with it’s cheery colours and fun images!
Next week I’ll be back one last time to share what I’ve done with some of your favourite classic Krumspring stamps!
