Blended Watercolor with Rowena

Hello again! Rowena here.

For today’s projects I will be doing a fun technique. I will transform an ink-blended panel into a pretty-looking loose watercoloring. Watercoloring can sometimes be intimidating. So, here’s my easy version of achieving that watercolor look.

I have created two watercolor cards with the help of ‘Dahlia‘ and ‘Spread your Wings‘ stamp sets and distress inks. So let’s get started!!

I first white embossed the flower from ‘Dahlia‘ stamp set. With a blending tool, I blended moved lawn, peacock feathers, wilted violet, and warm sunshine. I sprayed the panel with clean water and with a brush move the colors around.

Once the panel was dry I added additional colors (with the same distress inks) to brighten the images and to add more interest.

The second card is done the same way. I used mustard seed, seedless preserves, picked raspberry, and squeeze lemonade distress inks. Make sure to clean your brush everytime you add a new a color to your panel. This will avoid your colors on getting too muddy.

To finish the cards I chose sentiments from ‘The Necessary One‘ stamp set. This set is so awesome, it has everything you need to create a card for any occasions. Definitely check it out 😉 I added a few sequins and that finishes the cards for today.

I hope you guys had fun and learned something new. Thank you for stopping by!!!
