Birthday cards with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!

It’s Dana here coming back with two birthday cards to share with you. Let’s get started!

For my first card, I started by white heat embossing the triangle background from Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp. I ink blended it with dye inks using mini blending tool. I then die cut it with letter dies. At this time, I saved negative pieces for next card 🙂

I heat embossed again with butterfly image from Spread Your Wings stamp set using gold tinsel embossing powder on vellum paper. I fussy cut it with scissors.

Next, I trimmed black card stock as shown in the picture. I then adhered glittery papers matching with front panel’s colors.

To finish, I mounted triangle panel on the white card base using glue tape and foam mounted black panels, too. Lastly, I embellished gem stickers around butterfly.

For second card, I combined Tou-can do it! stamp set and Funky Pineapples stamp set.

To start, I stamped toucan images with distress ink, Antique Linen two times onto different papers. I colored them with alcohol markers using no line technique. I then fussy cut the one of their wings and adhered it to the other toucan. Do you remember my very first DT card I made for Krumspring stamps? I think I love flying toucan! Haha.

I then die cut hearts in two sizes from white card stock and yellow-green vellum paper. I stamped pineapples using masking technique with Versafine Onyx black (line image) and dye inks (solid image). To vellum heart, I applied Wink of Stella brush. And I glued them each other like gift packet for toucan’s friend.

Next, I adhered silver glittery washi tapes each side of A2 sized white card base. I mounted watercolor look paper on it and arranged all pieces where I wanted them using foam adhesive and glue. To finish, I embellished clear sequins here and there.

Hope you enjoyed these cards! Have a happy weekend!

Love,
Dana

Release Inspiration with Dana

Happy Monday, Krumspring friends! Welcome to Krumspring June Release Week Day 3!
It’s Dana here with 3 cards featuring awesome new release stamp sets. I’m sure you’ll be in love with new stamp sets as always! Let’s get started!

For my first card, I used Awesome Triangle Wizard Stamp set and Monkey Madness stamp set. I couldn’t resist using all cute monkeys from Monkey Madness stamp set and tried showing all of them at once to you.

I started by stamping monkey images with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them using Copic markers. I added a big smiling mouth and cute tongue to some of them. For hugging heart monkey, I gave sparkles for her heart using Wink of Stella Brush.

For rainbow background, I tried new technique using alcohol markers and Ethanol inspired from Jennifer McGuire. She used rubbing alcohol wipes and Yupo paper in her video but I used Ethanol liquid in bottle and thick vellum paper instead.

First, I applied alcohol markers using their broad nips on vellum paper. I put Ethanol in small spray bottle and sprayed it to the rainbow colored vellum paper. Finally, I got a beautiful result looking like water drops. I then white heat embossed Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp on vellum paper and mounted it on the A2 sized white card base using glue tape.

Now, it’s time to arrange all pieces to finish. I stamped sentiment and heart image from Monkey Madness stamp set on die cut front panel. Then, I mounted all elements as shown in the picture using foam adhesives.

For my funky second card, I used Funky Pineapples stamp set. Aren’t they looking so excited? They are already ready for enjoying summer!

To start, I stamped pineapples with Versafine Onyx Black and dye ink on Bristol paper and colored them using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I drew sunglasses and added googly eyes for these summer guys. lol. For sentiment, I heat embossed it using gold tinsel embossing powder on a black card stock and trimmed it using scissors.

After die cutting the silver front panel 5 times and glued them each other for dimension, I adhered turquoise and hot pink card stocks from AC on A2 sized white card base. To finish, I mounted pineapples and sentiment where I wanted them using foam adhesive.

Last but not least, I featured You Are Awesome stamp set for my 3rd card. The scribbled circles are so very versatile and I used it as 2 different ways in this card.

After I saw this doodled circles, I said ‘Oh, hi big flowers!’ Haha. So, I white heat embossed them on watercolor paper here and there and drew free hand flowers using Alpha Tint Watercolor paints inside and between the circles. I painted them thinking about one of my fab flower, Ranunculus but I’m not sure the result. Just free hand flowers! Hehe.

I then heat embossed circles again, but used gold tinsel embossing power at this time on the vellum paper. For the sentiment, I heat embossed it using black sparkle embossing power. Then, I die cut vellum paper with circle die. Small hearts are originally from a medium sized heart shape glitter sticker, my teammate Rosali sent me last year :), I die cut it with small heart die and embellished them around circles.

To finish, I mounted warm grey card stock on A2 sized white card base and adhered watercolor panel on it.

Hope you enjoyed these cards and got some inspirations! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Love,
Dana

This card just makes me smile. That happy coffee cup is a real heartbreaker lol 🙂 You Bring Out The Best In Me text is from For My Sunflower.

Erica

Erica went all in and created 4!! cards for this spotlight. This heart is just amazing. She used text from For My Sunflower and You Pixelate Me.

You can easily stamp this image several times next to each other. Erica did this and created and intricate background. She also used the Dahlia in Yellow in the subtle shape of a heart. Text is from The Necessary One.

Use the stamp as a guideline for an endless number of patterns. Here Erica created two cards with the same pattern but changed the colour. It’s funny how big of a difference that makes right? Dude you are so old is the text that goes with the You Pixelate Me stamp and Happy is from The Necessary One.

Use the stamp as a guideline for an endless number of patterns. Here Erica created two cards with the same pattern but changed the colour. It’s funny how big of a difference that makes right? For this she used the text from The Necessary One as well.

CAS cards with Dana

Hi, Krumspring friends!
It’s Dana here. Today, I’d like to share CAS cards with you. Here are what I came up with.

To start, I tried no line flower coloring in my very first time. I stamped the flower image from *Dahlia* stamp set with Antique linen, distress ink. I then colored it from light to dark shades using Zig clean color real brush markers. At this time, I added petal shapes with free hand and dahlia turned out a little bit different from the original image.

All of the things I did to this dahlia is my first trying and it took more than 1.5 hours to finish coloring haha. So I’d like to give focus to my flower. I die cut elegant embellishment from Spellbinders using gold foil paper and mounted it on the white card base. I then adhered dahlia on the center of it using foam adhesive. With stamping the sentiment from the same stamp set, I finished off this card.

For my second card, I started by die cutting 3 circles in different sizes. I then sponged dye inks on a white card base which will be placed back side of circle die cut panel.

Next, I stamped butterflies from *Spread your wings* stamp set using Versamark ink onto vellum paper and heat embossed the images with gold tinsel embossing powder. Sentiments are also from *Spread your wings* stamp set and I white heat embossed them onto black card stock. To finish, I adhered butterflies using clear foam adhesive and mounted all elements where I wanted them.
Hope you enjoy these cards. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Love,
Dana

Spread Your Wings

Release 5 – Inspiration with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!
It’s Dana here. Welcome to the first day of the April 2017 release post!
Today, I have 4 cards to share with you. Let’s get started!

For the first card, I featured Adventures Ahead stamp set and The Necessary One stamp set. I love new sentiment stamp set in particular because it is so versatile!

I started by stamping all images using distress inks (Antique linen and Tattered rose) for no-line coloring. Fire hot air balloon is from *Adventures Ahead stamp set* and tree image is from *Geometry stamp set*.
I then added color to the insides of the stamped lines using Mijello Mission watercolor paints. I’d like to show hot air ballooning in the cherry blossom season on this card, so I watercolored cherry blossoms over the trees.
With stamping sentiments from *The Necessary One stamp set*, I finished off this card.

For my 2nd to 4th cards, I tried mass-production. I’ve always played with one design-one card rule since I started cardmaking but I felt that time was coming to try something new! I guess the spring season makes me to do that 🙂

To start, I heat embossed the flower image from *Dahlia stamp set* onto the watercolor papers. Instead of the same design and same sentiment, I used different embossing powders and coloring techniques.
From left to right, I used

  • Clear embossing powder + distress ink blending + much water,
  • White embossing powder + distress ink blending + a little bit water for shading,
  • Sparkle embossing powder + distress inks blending + Zig markers for shading, white acrylic paint for splatters.

Next, I die cut circles from white card stocks to make windows. I then stamped sentiment from *The Necessary One stamp set* and created sentiment bars with glitter washi tapes matching with background colors.
I mounted window panel to the Dahlia watercolor panel using foam adhesives. I glued them again on the A2 white card base. To finish, I embellished sequins to each card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Love and hugs,
Dana

Caveman’s birthday gift for her girl friend with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!
It’s Dana here. I’m back with one more interactive card featuring *For my caveman* stamp set. This set is just awesome! As soon as I saw this stamp set, one scene came to my mind and I created this card. This card’s name is ‘Caveman’s birthday gift for her girl friend’.
To start, I sponged inks for background on the bristol paper. I then trimmed top and bottom of the paper to give some dimension on my finished card. After trimming using trimmer, I die cut these two pieces of paper using MFT Homespun stitch lines die.
Next, I stamped all elements as shown in the picture onto the bristol paper and colored them with my Zig markers. I applied stickles to right heart. Then, I fussy cut each of them using scissors.
It’s time to make slider. I used LF Slide on over die set and stamped sentiment onto the negative piece.
Lastly, I mounted all colored pieces using different size of foam adhesives for dimension. To finish, I arranged dinosaur up to the slider.
Yes, caveman’s gift was a dinosaur LOL. You can see mini video of this card in my *Instagram*.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Hope you enjoyed this card. Happy crafting!

Release week inspiration with Dana

Hello, crafty friends!
It’s Dana here. I’m so delighted to featuring Krumspring February release stamp sets. Today, I have two cards to share with you. Let’s get started!

First card is spinner card using ‘You make me fly‘ stamp set. I’m in love with these balloons!!

I started with stitched rectangle die for red cardstock. I then white heat embossed balloons on it. I stamped cute critter on a piece of bristol paper and drew some details and colored it with Zig clean color real brush markers.
I fussy cut it out with scissors and foam mounted it onto the small circle panel I made for spinner card. You can see a little part of circle panel in the following pic. I then die cut a channel from red panel using LF Slide on over dies and combined it with critter.

Next, I mounted baby pink card stock on the white card base and foam mounted red panel on it. I also added heart with metallic silver threads to top of card. Heart image is from Happiness overload stamp set and I white heat embossed it on a piece of baby pink card stock and added colors using Zig markers.

Lastly, I white heat embossed the sentiment from ‘You make me fly‘ and ‘For my sunflower‘ stamp set on the black card stock and foam mounted it on the red panel. Before finish it off, I added little shimmer around the balloons using Sakura gelly roll pens.

Now, it’s time to showcasing my second card using ‘For my sunflower‘ stamp set. For this card, I stretched my stamp by separating flower and stem using scissors to create my own floral background.

I randomly stamped sunflower image onto watercolor paper. I watercolored flowers and background with Mijello mission gold and water brush. I also splattered white acrylic paint with water.

I then die cut sentiment from the watercolor panel using MFT Hello and beautiful die set. I die cut same sentiment 3 times more from another papers and stacked layers for each of them ( top layer is from watercolor panel) before adhering them to card.

I mounted watercolor panel and sentiment layers on the white card base. I stamped another sentiment from ‘For my sunflower‘ stamp set. With some dew drops I finished it off.

That’s all for today. Hope you got some inspiration from these cards.
Happy crafting!

Love,
Dana

Non-traditional New Years Cards with Dana

Happy new year, everyone!
This is Dana here. I’m so thrilled to share my cards on this blog as Krumspring dream team!

Today, I made non traditional new year cards using happy colors and encouraging sentiments. Let’s get started!

To start, I die cut scalloped rectangle from watercolor paper. I did some masking to stamp the background except the scallop part.

I then stamped background image using watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After ink blending the background with  distress inks, I splattered some water and white acrylic paint using mini mister and paint brush.

Next, I stamped toucan image 2 times onto the watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx black. I trimmed wing from one and glued it to other toucan. I colored toucan with Peerless watercolors. To give it a highlight, I used white gel pen.

For clover, I stamped it using distress inks 2 times and brushed image smoothly using waterbrush. I also added sparkles to the clover using Wink of stella brush.

I then white heat embossed the sentiment on the black card stock and cut it out with banner die.

To finish, I foam mounted all elements and embellished clear sequins.

Background : One triangle at a time stamp set

Bird, clover, sentiment : Tou-can do it stamp set

For second card, I started by stamping geometry images using lots of dye inks onto the white card stock. Do you know ‘Greenery’ is the color of 2017 by Pantone? I used that color on my main hexagon image.

Other colors are inspired from Pantone 2017 spring colors, too. After inking, I stamped sentiments using Versafine Onyx black.

Lastly, I added various patterns using white gel pen to the geometry images. I love how them turned out. I then glued inked panel to the white card base.

[ Supplies I used for card 2 ]

Geometry images : Geometry stamp set

Small dot : Happiness overload stamp set

Sentiment : You rock! stamp set (You rock!),

Shoot for the moon stamp set (There is no one like you)
