Hello there!

Today we have 2 more fun cards highlighting the Avocado Family set!

rowena:

I love how Rowena created a fun scene using the “You Make Me Fly” set and combined it with sentiments from “The Necessary One“.

Maria:

I heatemboosed “One Triangle At A Time” in white and the inkblended with distress inks. I was inspired by Rosali’s colouring of the Avocado from yesterday and made her pink.

Blended Watercolor with Rowena

Hello again! Rowena here.

For today’s projects I will be doing a fun technique. I will transform an ink-blended panel into a pretty-looking loose watercoloring. Watercoloring can sometimes be intimidating. So, here’s my easy version of achieving that watercolor look.

I have created two watercolor cards with the help of ‘Dahlia‘ and ‘Spread your Wings‘ stamp sets and distress inks. So let’s get started!!

I first white embossed the flower from ‘Dahlia‘ stamp set. With a blending tool, I blended moved lawn, peacock feathers, wilted violet, and warm sunshine. I sprayed the panel with clean water and with a brush move the colors around.

Once the panel was dry I added additional colors (with the same distress inks) to brighten the images and to add more interest.

The second card is done the same way. I used mustard seed, seedless preserves, picked raspberry, and squeeze lemonade distress inks. Make sure to clean your brush everytime you add a new a color to your panel. This will avoid your colors on getting too muddy.

To finish the cards I chose sentiments from ‘The Necessary One‘ stamp set. This set is so awesome, it has everything you need to create a card for any occasions. Definitely check it out 😉 I added a few sequins and that finishes the cards for today.

I hope you guys had fun and learned something new. Thank you for stopping by!!!

Rowena

Release 5 – Inspiration with Rowena

Hello friends! Rowena here today I have a couple of projects showcasing some awesome new goodies. So here we go!

For my first card, I created a birthday card using ‘Adventure Ahead’ stamp set. This set is fun for any occasion. The set came with two cute hot air balloons and tiny clouds.

For my card I used the smaller image, I simply colored the hot air balloon with copics. I then fussy cut the image and adhered it with foam tape.

For the background I used a cloud washi tape to create a sky background. I splattered black ink and a few sequins to add interest.

To finish the card I stamped a happy birthday sentiment from ‘The Necessary One’. This set is packed with all sorts of sentiments. It’s a definite must have 😉 That finishes the first card.

For my second card, I created a congratulatory card for my dear friend who is expecting their second child.

I did a watercolor background to create my scene. I stamp the little family from the ‘Avocado Family’ stamp set. I colored the images with copics and adhered it with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set with versafine onyx black ink. I splattered perfect pearls solution to the background and added a few sequins to finish the card.

All stamps will be available for purchase on April 1. I hope you all got inspired and I cannot wait to see all your beautiful cards.

Hugs,
Rowena

Spring Festival Challenge 2 – Rowena

Hello friends!

Rowena here and today’s challenge is Easter! Create any projects or cards with an Easter theme.

Here’s how I created mine! I wanted to create a card with added details.

For example, for the grass, I white heat embossed ‘One Triangle at a Time‘ and I used a grass die (any grass die you have will do) to make the grass. The triangles just adds a bit of interest to the grass! Then I blended mowed lawn and twisted citron distress inks. Flicked some water for that distress look.

I white heat embossed  ‘You Pixelate Me‘ to create pattern to my tree and sun. Then die cut the sun and the tree. I blended squeezed lemonade  and wild honey for the sun. Twisted citron and forest moss for the tree.

I think using these two stamps just adds a bit of something to your plain paper, when die cutting any image. You can totally add pattern to any die cuts you have. The cute little house is from the ‘You make me Fly‘ stamp set. I colored the image in copics and then fussy cut. The bunny and Easter basket is colored in copics as well.To finish the card I heat embossed silver for the sentiment.

That finishes the card for today!

Releaseweek Inspiration With Rowena

Hi there! Rowena here and today I have 4 fun projects to share, featuring some brand new stamps for an upcoming release(yes! our fearless leader has outdone herself again) Hehe!!! So let’s get started.

For my first card, I used the ‘You Pixelate Me‘ stamp set. Growing up and even as an adult we all enjoyed a little game of Tetris. So, my card is a play on the game.

I created different pieces based on the game and colored them with copics.

I then fussy cut the image and adhered it with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment to finish the card. I just love this stamp!! The possibilities are endless.

For my second card, I’m featuring ‘You make me Fly‘ stamp set. This stamp can be used in so many ways. Here’s my take….

I created the sky by blending distress inks: mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass. I sprinkled some water and mermaid lagoon to add some interest to the background.

The grass was done by creating a stencil. I blended twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks. After blending, I sprinkled some water and mowed lawn. I elevated the panel, so I blended the same thing on the card base.

The cute little house, balloons, and geometric tree are all colored with copics and fussy cut. I added foam tape and adhered to the card.

Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set in white on a piece of black cardstock.

For my 3rd card, I’m featuring the adorable caveman from ‘For my Caveman‘ stamp set.

As soon as I saw this stamp I immediately knew I had to create some painted rocks.

I first stamped the caveman, then stamped the sentiment just below the image(or anywhere you like), then I drew random rocks with an archival pen. Your rocks can be any shapes or sizes you like. That’s the fun part!

I watercolored the rocks with combinations of browns, grays, yellows, and reds watercolor. Sandy Allnock has a fantastic tutorial on her youtube channel you should check out (Link here).

To finish the card, I simply colored the rest of the images using watercolor as well. That finishes the card.

For my last and final card, I used the ‘For My Sunflower‘ stamp set. This stamp is so versatile, you can either stamp it on it’s own or as a cluster, like I did for this card.

I first stamped the image focusing mostly on the corner of the card and only stamping the top portion of the sunflower. I masked the first flower and randomly stamped the others.

I watercolored the sunflowers in yellows and oranges (even a bit of brown). The center was colored in brown. I added some grays around the sunflowers to make the image pop. I flicked some gray and white paint as well, to add a bit of interest. I then stamped a thank you sentiment to finish the card.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and got inspired. All featured stamps will be ready for purchase February 4. Yay!!

Till next time!! Thank you 🙂

Painted Night Sky with Rowena

Hello! So thrilled to be sharing another card with you all.

For today’s card, I wanted to create a night sky featuring ‘Shoot for the Moon‘ stamp. I wanted the moon to be the focal point of the card.

I created a loose watercolor background by applying a wet on wet technique and allowing the paint to flow and blend on it’s own. To finish, I flicked white paint and added some shimmer.

For the Moon, I heat embossed and watercolored it as well. I also added some shimmer( it’s hard to capture the shimmer on camera, but trust me, it’s gorgeous!). The little sheep is colored with copics.

I then fussy cut all images and adhered it with foam tape. I heat embossed the sentiment on a black cardstock and trimmed it. To finish off the card, I added a few die cut hearts. That finishes off the card for today.

I hope you all like today’s post and got inspired. Till next time!!

Shoot for the Moon

Simple One Layer Card with Rowena

Hello crafty friends, it’s Rowena here!
Today, I’m sharing a simple one layer card using the gorgeous ‘Shine bright like a Diamond’ set.

For this card, I used only the medium and small diamond stamp, to create this random background. I stamped the diamond stamp in Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Peacock Feathers, and Salty Ocean.

I then took a damp brush and went over the stamped areas, using a light touch to move the colors around the panel. To create that watercolor effect.

I stamped the greeting from the same stamp set onto a piece of black cardstock with Versamark ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder and heat set. I then adhered the sentiment strip to the card front and finished with a few sequins.

I hope you guys like it and hopefully you got inspired. Thanks for stopping by and till next time.

Crafty Hugs,
Rowena
