Beautiful Butterflies with Tina

Hi guys!
I am back on the Krumspring blog with some new inspiration for you – this time I dedicated my craftyness to the beauuuutiful stamp set called „Spread your wings“. I made two cards; one is on the clean and simple side and the other one is acutally made from leftovers of previous projects. I am sure you all know this: you start with a cards, you have some certain ideas in your head and in the end it looks completely different, LOL. So never, never throw away anything you might have created while your card making process, one day you will have the perfect occasion using it!

So let’s get started with my first card ☺

I heat embossed the butterflies onto vellum (120g/m2, quite heavy) with white embossing powder and fussy cut them out. Using a heavy vellum makes them nice and sturdy. So I diecut a stitched panel of craft cardstock and adhered both butterflies with gluedots underneath the body (this way, the gluedots won’t show off). Then I simply added a diecut „hello“ (I cut it out three times for a nice dimension) plus the word „beautiful“ (from the same set), also white heat embossed onto black cardstock and glued them onto the panel as well. Some white Nuvo drops finished off my very clean an simple card. It took me about 15 minutes to create it. I think although it’s CAS, it is still sweet and feminine. So if you are in a hurry lately, this might be a card you wanna try out! 😉

So we jump right to my second card which is made out of leftovers:

I made this pretty watercolor background for a previous card project and in the end I didn’t use it. I have a drawer full of things I began but never finished. So I grabbed for that panel because I thought the colors would be a nice background for my pretty vellum butterflies. To add more interest, I decided to diecut a frame out of glittery cardstock. I heat embossed the big „Happy“ in white and the small „birthday“ in gold. They are both included in the set „The Necessary One“. I added some sparkling sequins to imitate the trail of the smaller butterfly. As I already hat the watercolor panel, this card was also finished in about 20 minutes. It is always a highlight for me finishing a card in such a short time – I need more or less 3 hours for one card in the average ☺ ☺.
I hope you got inspired and give your leftovers a good home on a card very soon!
Have an amazing day! Hugs – Tina

Release Inspiration with Tina

Hello fellow crafters!

I am back on Maria’s blog with fun stuff from her brand-new release!! There are so many great sets!!!

I started with the fancy set called „Funky pineapples“. Gosh, how many ideas are floating my mind when I look at these stamps!! Foiling, embossing, watercoloring…. It feels like an invitation for playing, lol ! So here weg go!
Both cards are actually pretty simple. For the first one I stamped my card panel randomly with the different pineapples with versamark ink, sprinkled some white embossing powder over it and melted it with my heat gun. As you may know, once melted, embossing powder is color resistant against many media , like watercolors or colored pencils. So I grabbed my regular watercolors (which I have since my primary school days by the way, lol) and put some colors on in all shades of green and yelllow. A pretty amazing word die (I diecut it 4 times and stacked it on each other) on a torn strip of vellum and some sparkling sequins finished off my design.

For my second card I wanted to create something with rainbow colors, so I came up with this design by masking off every pineapple a tiny bit that I could color them in rainbow order. For the frame around my design I used some green metallic foiling to create more interest to the card.

This is another great and versatile set called „You are Awesome“ – and that’s what it is – awesome! There is a simple wreath and tiny little leaves and dots and things to create a nice greenery on it. Or you can leave it blank as I did on one card and just color in every tiny bit on that wreath. Put an eyecatching word or sentiment over it and you are good to go! And still sooo many possibilities to discover!

Look at these monkeys!! Aren’t they the cutest?? „Monkey Madness“ is just adorable. For my card I turned these monkeys into a family. Mom, dad and the little boy are peeking through the windows of the wildlife station out in the bushes ☺ everything is colored with my copics, even the diecut leaves. The background is sponged with different pigment inks.
I really had a lot of fun creating and playing with all those new sets – I bet you will like them too!

Have an amazing day!

Hugs – Tina

Introducing New Dream Team Member – Tina Krauer

Hi peeps

Yes I am continuing to expanding the Dream Team with some AMAZING ladies 🙂 I am pinching myself with how lucky I am to have such an amazing team. Today I can introduce a new member, and I have been so excited.
Please welcome Tina from @teenaleee on Instagram 🙂

I love Tina’s happy cards and her cheerful person – I know she will bring something really fun and happy to the table. Please welcome her and leave her some love !

My name is Tina, I was born in 1977. I am living in the heart of Switzerland, near Lucerne, together with my awesome husband and my little daughter. Ah yes, we also have two furry friends in our family – Candy and Chili, the best cats on this planet 🙂 During my pregnancy in 2013, I came across with the Big Shot machine and the adventure of papercrafting and cardmaking has begun. I am hooked to it ever since 🙂 I really love coloring, especially with my copics. But all kinds of coloring media have my heart, I barely can resist when I discover new colored pencils, makers, watercolors & co. :-))

My style of cards is not a particular one – I love everything, except overloaded cards. I hope I can inspire you with my passion for card making and papercrafting!

Hello fellow crafters!

I am SO happy and excited being a part of Maria’s amazing dream team from now on!! For my very first blog post I decided to go with two of my favorite sets of her entire collection. So let’s dive into it!

For my first card, I used the set „Adventures ahead“. I really love these hot air balloons – so many possibilities to put color on them! You even could put a little critter into the basket, peeking out from there… ☺ but this time I decided to create a non-cute card which will be perfect for a male recipient. I stamped the hot air balloons with versamark ink, then heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I pulled out my good old fashioned watercolors (just the ones in pans) and colored the balloons in rainbow colors. The great thing about heat embossed images is that the lines get raised. So the watercolor won’t move outside every portion – this is so helpful when coloring with watercolors!

After it was dry, I fussy cut the images with my scissors. I even cut out the inner portion between basket and balloon with my craft knife; I didn’t want to have a white space there.
To match the hot air balloons, I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder onto my panel, and then I sponged a background over it with different distress inks – just a pretty blue sky. Then I diecut some clouds and added some clear sparkling sequins to create more interest to the card. Voilà, here we go for an almost all occasions fitting card for your card stash! ☺

My second card for today was a bit more intricate. I really wanted to showcase this beauuuuutiful sunflower from the set „For My Sunflower“. I stamped it with a very light distress ink (antique linen) onto watercolor paper and gave the entire flower a first wash with regular watercolors. Then I pulled out my watersoluble colored pencils to define the sunflower and for adding more depth to it. Take your time for this kind of coloring! It took me about 45 minutes for the whole sunflower – but totally worth it, don’t you think? After that, I fussy cut (be careful!) the whole flower and put it aside.

Then I diecut a frame for my shaker window and a base panel. I sponged a pretty cloudy sky to it. Then I glued some acetate to my shaker frame and added a double layer of foam tape behind the acetate. This way, the sequins have plenty space to move. I wanted to imitate some sunflower petals, so I put in some yellow matching sequins and for more interest, some tiny stars and for the nice shaker sound, a few micro beads. I just looove that sound ☺

To add more interest, I decided to put the sunflower in front of a garden fence and some grass behind which is peeking through. When I finished the card, I came up with the idea to put a sentiment on a tiny tag and hang it over a picket there. I really like adding details like that ☺
I hope you got inspired and will get crafty too now!
Have an amazing day! Hugs – Tina
