Erica

Erica used the ultimate summer theme flower – the Sunflower – for this card. I love that she used the Colourful Triangle Vibe stamp, to create little green hils for the Sunflower.

Tina

That background! I mean, SWOON! Tina used the Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp as a template to create this amazing beach.

Rosali

You can almost sense how hot this dinosaur from For My Caveman is, walking in the desert. Love how Rosali used the Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp to create a scenic background too.

The Peacockness Peacock is PERFECT for summer cards. I really love the colours and hot background for this card, also using Awesome Triangle Wizard

Don’t you just feel the summer vibes now!? I hope you do 🙂
Remember to stop by the shop and stock up on sales items!

Enjoy your summer day

Superhero Madness with Maria

Hello there

I have been on a fun crafting spree this week and wanted to share it with you all 🙂

The “You Pixelate Me” really has a lot of opportunities hidden inside. Plus it is super easy to line up – with or without a MISTI, so you can keep expanding your images in size. For these cards I have stamped the image several times for each – I used the MISTI since I am a monkey in doing things straight 🙂

I began by finding an image with a lot of superheroes. I used this one for several images:

Found on Pinterest – source missing.

I created 8 cards with Batman, Superman, The Hulk, Thor, Loke, Spiderman, Captain America and Ironman.

Oh my – I had SO much fun with these. When I first got going, I just could not stop again. And I am still contemplating some more designs. I mean – Wonder Woman just came out, right!?

For me these are the perfect boys/men cards. I have my own superhero who I could gift all of these to 🙂 Ha ha…

Here is a closeup of all the cards:

Spiderman

I think the Spiderman card i my favourite. I was just in New York last month with my boyfriend, and every single time we turned a corner, he had a Spiderman scene for me.

Captain America

The caption says “Congratulations on your day” in Danish. I did Distress Ink stripes for the background and went crazy with my Nuvo drops.

Batman

I have been wanting to do a Batman card since Keeway guest designed in March.
I used the text from “For My Caveman” and wrote bat instead of cave.

Loke

These are just my colours – and that might have been my only reason for doing this figure in the first place since I had to check with Jacob who he was 🙂
I used text from “For My Sunflower” to create the sentiment. I just handwrote Villain.

Superman

I couldn’t leave out Superman, right? Love that silkyhair 🙂 Text is also from “For My Caveman“.

Iron Man

I can’t look at this card without beginning to sing “I am IRONMAN” in my head. Awesome song. The sentiment is Happy Birthday in Danish.

The Hulk

This card ended up a little funky green, sparkle, disco-ish. But I still like it. The text is from Monkey Madness.

Thor

Nordic Mythology (wohooo Scandinavia) and Thor. I so wanted to do a lightning behind him, but I could not make it work. So instead he got some clouds lol.

Well, that was a whole bunch of cards ! And I could keep them coming – I had som much fun 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this little superhero(and villain) installment.

Hugs
Maria

You Pixelate Me Spotlight – part 2

Hello there!

This month we are changing things up a little. We will be having 3 spotlights, where we are highlighting a specific stamp set for 3 days. The Dream Team have come up with some epic cards and we hope you will have a lot of fun – read more here (including information on how to win the next release).

Do not forget that you can save 20 % on the You Pixelate Me stampset until May 18 at midnight CET 🙂

Today we have a bunch of cards highlighting the You Pixelate Me set!

Maria

I found a photo online of a pixelated version of The Good Dinosaur (have you seen the movie? It is so good!) and immideately knew I had to combine it with the Caveman stamp from For My Caveman. This is honestly one of my favourite cards ever 🙂

I hosted a stamping event in March where Tanja from HappyHillDk made this Pacman game! I just had to replicate it myself 🙂

Rosali

Rosali is a genius! Micki Mouse – It’s perfect 🙂 She combined it with Star Power. Perfect cards for so many occasions and of course – children!

This is just so awesome! I love how Rosali kept the card clean and simple to really make the figure pop!

You cannot look at this card and not smile 🙂

Natalie

Natalie always thinks outside the box. She says about this card: “I wanted to do something slightly different and I used the stamp as the grid lines for some hand-stitched embroidery. The possibilities are endless with this and I had lots of different design ideas before I settled on this very simple heart shape! “

If you do not already own this stampset – it is on sale by 20 % until May 18 at midnight !

Thank you for stopping by – I really hope you are enjoying this spotlight 🙂

Caveman’s birthday gift for her girl friend with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!
It’s Dana here. I’m back with one more interactive card featuring *For my caveman* stamp set. This set is just awesome! As soon as I saw this stamp set, one scene came to my mind and I created this card. This card’s name is ‘Caveman’s birthday gift for her girl friend’.
To start, I sponged inks for background on the bristol paper. I then trimmed top and bottom of the paper to give some dimension on my finished card. After trimming using trimmer, I die cut these two pieces of paper using MFT Homespun stitch lines die.
Next, I stamped all elements as shown in the picture onto the bristol paper and colored them with my Zig markers. I applied stickles to right heart. Then, I fussy cut each of them using scissors.
It’s time to make slider. I used LF Slide on over die set and stamped sentiment onto the negative piece.
Lastly, I mounted all colored pieces using different size of foam adhesives for dimension. To finish, I arranged dinosaur up to the slider.
Yes, caveman’s gift was a dinosaur LOL. You can see mini video of this card in my *Instagram*.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Hope you enjoyed this card. Happy crafting!
Love,

Caveman pop-up card with Erica

Hello, helloooo!

Erica here and I’m back on the Krumpring blog with a card that’s rather epic if I may say so myself. Not just the card itself but the making of it as well. Five days on and off to colour all the bits, fussy cut everything, make fore-and-backgrounds, figure the whole shebang out and then putting it together. The pop-up card idea I had in my head turned out to be a lot more complicated to turn into reality than I first thought… BUT rather worth the effort, I’d say, now it’s all done and dusted!

In our house we call our TV room ‘the man cave’ and the craft room is ‘the woman cave’. It is actually one big, L-shaped room with the man cave in one end and the woman cave in the other so we can be together whilst still being in our separate sections, doing what we want to do. It’s a great setup and much better than when I used to have my craft room in a completely different part of the house. An extra plus is I have the bigger part of the room *insert happy cackling here* What I was getting to with this little background story is this: When I saw the sentiment ‘caveman’ in the “For My Caveman” I immediately thought I want to change the words around to stamp ‘man cave’ instead. It would be perfect for my very own caveman to open in his man cave. Clever, huh??

The first thing I did was stamp up the cave-couple and the fire and coloured them in with Copic markers. I’m not very good at skin tones with the Copics, which became very evident during the colouring, so I’m thinking of taking some colouring classes this year to improve. One of the things I adore about crafting is that there is always room for improvement and new techniques to explore and try out.

To create the illusion of a glow from an actual fire I also cut out a small circle of vellum and coloured the back of it yellow before attaching it to the back of the fire. Once I had fussy cut the cave people out I placed them close to each other, like he’s got his arm wrapped around her, and glued them together.

Something I wanted to incorporate in the card was balloons even though they were not available back in the Stone Age. I’m a rebel like that, lol! I stamped up some heart stamps from a Studio Katia stamp set and added the sentiments ‘Hot Stuff’, ‘Crazy 4U’ and ‘I’m Yours’ and coloured them in with Copics as well. These I fussy cut and added strings to attach to the back of the caveman so it looks like the balloons are floating above them, kind of like he’s about to give them to his love. Once I had all these bits done I set them aside and started working on the card base. I knew I wanted it to be a pop up card and I wasted two card bases cutting out the pop-up elements in the wrong spots or where it turned out it didn’t work… Oh, well, you live and learn. Ok, sometimes you do. Clearly I didn’t just now as it took three tries to get it somewhat right and even then, I was not 100% happy as it turned out that the pet dinosaur I wanted the cave couple to have, didn’t fit thanks to the placement of the pop-up elements. Admittedly, I decided on the dinosaur later but still, poor Dino got evicted because I couldn’t remove the fire I had already added without ripping it and potentially the pop-up piece.

My idea was that the front of the card was going to be the outside of the mountain where the cave was, and the inside of the card was going to be the inside of the cave. Basically, I wanted to cover everything but the backside of the card with mountains and cave walls. It took some trial and error to get the look right too. The mountain/front of the card I ended up coloured with Zig markers on a very textured watercolour paper. The thinking behind this was that it would make it look more natural and rocky. I drew the door and the stones around it first, then went to work on the mountain itself. Using a light grey Zig marker I coloured away until I was happy with it. There is hardly any water added to it as I didn’t want a too smooth look. The door got a ‘slab of stone’ look instead of a big rock, because my cave-couple have some sense of home decorating and darker rocks around it for a door-frame. Very ahead of their time these people indeed! I also cut out a small sign which I stamped the ‘man cave’ on to hang over the door. This piece is also coloured with Zigs but in wooden colours.

The inside of the card/the cave itself I used distress inks on a much smoother watercolour paper. Mostly greys here too and some Black Soot around the edges to make it look cave-like. The space around the fire is lighter as it would be in real life and darker out at the edges as if the light can’t reach. I also dotted Black Soot and Picket Fence with a dauber quite crudely to create a rock-like surface, with the dark and light bits being bits of rock that are either sticking out and catching the light or being crevices that are darker. My imagination was running quite high here as you might be able to catch from all this rambling!

I nearly added a sign on the inside of the cave that said ‘love cave’ but thought I’d best let the caveman keep some dignity. The balloons are sappy enough, aren’t they?

Well, before anyone starts falling asleep from reading all of this(anyone still here? Hello…?) I’d better stop. Have a great week and see you soon again!

Happy crafting from Erica

Releaseweek Inspiration With Rowena

Hi there! Rowena here and today I have 4 fun projects to share, featuring some brand new stamps for an upcoming release(yes! our fearless leader has outdone herself again) Hehe!!! So let’s get started.

For my first card, I used the ‘You Pixelate Me‘ stamp set. Growing up and even as an adult we all enjoyed a little game of Tetris. So, my card is a play on the game.

I created different pieces based on the game and colored them with copics.

I then fussy cut the image and adhered it with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment to finish the card. I just love this stamp!! The possibilities are endless.

For my second card, I’m featuring ‘You make me Fly‘ stamp set. This stamp can be used in so many ways. Here’s my take….

I created the sky by blending distress inks: mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass. I sprinkled some water and mermaid lagoon to add some interest to the background.

The grass was done by creating a stencil. I blended twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks. After blending, I sprinkled some water and mowed lawn. I elevated the panel, so I blended the same thing on the card base.

The cute little house, balloons, and geometric tree are all colored with copics and fussy cut. I added foam tape and adhered to the card.

Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set in white on a piece of black cardstock.

For my 3rd card, I’m featuring the adorable caveman from ‘For my Caveman‘ stamp set.

As soon as I saw this stamp I immediately knew I had to create some painted rocks.

I first stamped the caveman, then stamped the sentiment just below the image(or anywhere you like), then I drew random rocks with an archival pen. Your rocks can be any shapes or sizes you like. That’s the fun part!

I watercolored the rocks with combinations of browns, grays, yellows, and reds watercolor. Sandy Allnock has a fantastic tutorial on her youtube channel you should check out (Link here).

To finish the card, I simply colored the rest of the images using watercolor as well. That finishes the card.

For my last and final card, I used the ‘For My Sunflower‘ stamp set. This stamp is so versatile, you can either stamp it on it’s own or as a cluster, like I did for this card.

I first stamped the image focusing mostly on the corner of the card and only stamping the top portion of the sunflower. I masked the first flower and randomly stamped the others.

I watercolored the sunflowers in yellows and oranges (even a bit of brown). The center was colored in brown. I added some grays around the sunflowers to make the image pop. I flicked some gray and white paint as well, to add a bit of interest. I then stamped a thank you sentiment to finish the card.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and got inspired. All featured stamps will be ready for purchase February 4. Yay!!

Till next time!! Thank you 🙂

Rowena

Reveal Part 1

Hi Peeps – Maria K here today to share some of the release with you all 🙂

Spoiler alert: NO TRIANGLES! Whaaaat? I know, it’s very weird for me, but I promise you, these sets are great. I am super proud of them + the Dream Teams cards coming this week, is SO inspiring! This is gonna be such a fun week.

Okay, enough talking – take a look at some of these babies. I have 5 stampsets this time – and will show 3 of them today.

They will be for sale at February 4 at 9 am UTC +01. This time it will be possible to buy the 4 international stampsets together with a little discount 🙂

Introducing: For My Caveman

This stampset is for my boyfriend Jacob – who is my caveman. And I am quite sure that I am not the only living with a caveman/woman. I just so happens to have a friend, who is sometimes a little cavewoman-ish too (not mentioning any names Camilla lol).

This is also my first time doing people-stamps! Big deal alert.

Introducing: You Pixelate Me

This set may look a little blah at first glance – BUT – there are soooooo many possibilities! Like tetris, pixelart, crosswords or maybe as a cool, graphic background stamp!? Well, I hope to see lots more great idea for use of this baby – cause I am pretty darn excited 🙂

Introducing: Konfirmand

This is a danish stampset to celebration Confirmation – a big deal in Denmark and a happy occasion to celebrate our teenagers 🙂 My own cousin is actually having his in May. This set is completely unique and in a limited stock.  The datestamps goes to 2022 and the brushscript is timeless – so is that church.

Okay – that was the first 3 sets – if you return tomorrow, the last 2 stampsets will be revealed 🙂

Don’t forget yesterday’s post with 3 chances to win a stampset.

Hugs
Maria – Krumspring
