Birthday cards with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!

It’s Dana here coming back with two birthday cards to share with you. Let’s get started!

For my first card, I started by white heat embossing the triangle background from Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp. I ink blended it with dye inks using mini blending tool. I then die cut it with letter dies. At this time, I saved negative pieces for next card 🙂

I heat embossed again with butterfly image from Spread Your Wings stamp set using gold tinsel embossing powder on vellum paper. I fussy cut it with scissors.

Next, I trimmed black card stock as shown in the picture. I then adhered glittery papers matching with front panel’s colors.

To finish, I mounted triangle panel on the white card base using glue tape and foam mounted black panels, too. Lastly, I embellished gem stickers around butterfly.

For second card, I combined Tou-can do it! stamp set and Funky Pineapples stamp set.

To start, I stamped toucan images with distress ink, Antique Linen two times onto different papers. I colored them with alcohol markers using no line technique. I then fussy cut the one of their wings and adhered it to the other toucan. Do you remember my very first DT card I made for Krumspring stamps? I think I love flying toucan! Haha.

I then die cut hearts in two sizes from white card stock and yellow-green vellum paper. I stamped pineapples using masking technique with Versafine Onyx black (line image) and dye inks (solid image). To vellum heart, I applied Wink of Stella brush. And I glued them each other like gift packet for toucan’s friend.

Next, I adhered silver glittery washi tapes each side of A2 sized white card base. I mounted watercolor look paper on it and arranged all pieces where I wanted them using foam adhesive and glue. To finish, I embellished clear sequins here and there.

Hope you enjoyed these cards! Have a happy weekend!

Release Inspiration with Rowena

I’m so excited to be introducing some new stamps for an upcoming release for June 3. So get ready for a whole lot of awesomeness coming your way this week from the entire dream team.

For my first card, I used the ‘You Are Awesome’ stamp. This stamp is perfect for creating beautiful and unique backgrounds for any of your projects but for my card I used it to create a whimsical moon to create my night scene 😉

  1. First I white heat embossed the large scribbly (is that even a word? Oh well it is now! Hehe!!) circle stamp from the ‘You Are Awesome’ stamp.
  2. I masked my moon and blended chipped sapphire, blueprint sketched, faded jeans, and mermaid lagoon distress inks. I added a little bit of black soot to tone down the blues.
  3. I then splattered white paint and perfect pearls for added shine (it’s hard to see on the photo, but trust me it’s shiny) 😉
  4. To finished the scene, I colored the cute hanging bear from the ‘You Make Me Fly’ stamp in copics and the tiny star from ‘Star Power‘ stamp.
  5. To finish my card I used the Believe in Yourself sentiment from ‘Tou-can Do It‘ stamp.

That completes the first card!

As soon as I saw the monkeys from the ‘Monkey Madness’ stamp set, I immediately had an idea in my head. So, for my second card I was inspired by the movie King Kong! Hehe!! A cuter and a lot less scary version of the movie! 😁

For this card I created a fun and cute birthday card. Where King Kong is holding on to some heart balloons and is hanging from the side of a building.

1. I created a loose watercolor sky using a wet on wet technique. I used salty ocean distress ink.

2. I extended the ‘Pixelate Me‘ stamp and created a building, a pattern which I found on the internet. Colored my image in copics.

3. I stamp the heart and made it into balloons. Using a copic friendly pen.

4. I colored all my images in copics and to finish the card I stamp the sentiment from the same set.

I hope you had fun today and got excited for the upcoming release!!! There are many more beautiful and fun cards coming your way from the rest of the dream team so stay tuned!!! Thanks again for stopping by!!!

Happy Crafting!!!

Star Power Spotlight – part 2

Are you ready for the last spotlight post for this month!?

We are currently putting a spotlight on “Star Power“.

I wanted to end this spotlight with a little story:

  • Star Power is one of the first stampsets I ever did. I created it based on a doodling video I did in February 2016 which I got a massive response for (to me it was massive at least 🙂 ). The videos couldn’t be longer at than 15 seconds at that time. You can watch it here.
When I received my first delivery of stamps, I was just doing it because it was a big dream for me, and I just wanted to try it out. I was very nervous that it would crash and burn. I kept telling myself “This is just a hobby – I am doing it because I love stamps and have been mumbling about this for so many years”.
When I launched the stamps on August 20, 2016 I was SO nervous. I told my boyfriend “I don’t think I can do this – can you please press ´send´for me?”. I hadn’t slept all night and actually postponed it for an additional hour, because I was so nervous.
Well it turned out, I didn’t have any reason to be nervous. The Star Power stampset sold out within 5 hours of launching the stamps. I was completely stunned.
This stampset is still my all time bestseller, and I am eternally grateful that took the leap!
  • This is also a big THANK you to all of you. It was YOU who purchased the stamps and therefore YOU making my dream possible. Thank you from my heart.

Well enough with the sob stories (yes I feel a little emotional) – onto the awesome cards!

20 % discount is available until May 25 at midnight CET.

And now ! Onto the cards 🙂

Jannis colour choice never disappoints. This is just the most darling shaker card.

See that used Star stamp! Janni has made SO many amazing cards with the Star Power set. I really like how she combined the text from Tou Can Do It!

Again with the colours right!? The Congratulation text is from The Necessary One.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. Sharna and watercolors is always a perfect combination.

As a big yellow fan – this card is perfection for me 🙂 The congratulation text is from The Necessary One.

Yes, Erica went all in again! She created three awesome cards. This card would also be perfect for New Years 🙂

I am ALWAYS in for a rainbow! Love the way Erica made the colours pop.

This was not an obvious color choice for me but I love how it turned out. I started out with being completely paralyzed by all the things I wanted to do – luckily it ended well 🙂

Do not forget the challenge / click here to go to challenge post!

  • The challenge runs until May 25 at midnight (where release week kicks off 🙂 ) and we will draw one winner who will win the entire new release for June between all spotlight challenge submissions! Wohooo!
If you do not already own this stampset – it is on sale by 20 % until May 24 at midnight !

Thank you so much for reading!

Guest Designer Natalie – Part 3 + Exciting news!

Hi Peeps – this is Maria popping in to share some ultra fun and exciting news!
I am such a big fan of Natalie, and her projects this month, just knocked me of my chair – so I invited her to be a part of the Dream Team and guess what! She said yes! Please welcome Natalie to the team and show her some love 🙂

Hello friends, it’s Natalie here from One Scrappy Doctor and I am back one last time to share some inspiration with you as a Guest Designer, from some older-release (but still very classic) Krumspring stamps!

The Tou-Can Do It stamp set has been calling my name ever since I first laid eyes on it. I love that crazy little toucan image and the punny sentiment that goes with it. It even made my daughters giggle when they saw it!

I wanted fairly traditional colouring for my bird so I went through Google to find out what that might be, and then painted him with Glimermist to give it the saturated colour (and subtle shimmer) that he needed.

For the background I chose the solid leaf stamp from the set and used a double-inking watercolour effect with a couple of shades of green dye ink to create a pattern. And because it’s been way too long since I created a shaker card I knew that’s the direction I wanted to go with this one. I picked sequins that matched the same colours as the toucan and poured lots and lots into the pocket I made so that it would be really full!

The last card I have to share with you today is made with the Star Power stamp set. I really wanted to try my hand at creating a galaxy effect, and I used my Twinkling H2O’s to paint it. I think I might have overdone it with the ‘galaxy’ part, and should have gone a bit stronger with the black background, but anyway, you should see the shimmer on this – it’s quite incredible and really lovely in real life!

I want to thank Maria for inviting me to be a Guest Designer at Krumspring for this month because I really love creating with these fun stamps. I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new whilst I’ve been here sharing my projects, and I’m sure I’ll still see you around. Here’s a link to some of my social media channels if you would like to see more of my work.

Love to you all!

Spring Festival Challenge 3 – Rosali

Hi, Rosali here!

Welcome to another day of Krumspring Stamps’ Spring Festival! As you might already know we have a challenge theme and inspirational project for you on every day during this week! So, let’s get started! 🙂

For my challenge, I picked a RAINBOW COLOURS theme! There is just something about combining all rainbow colors that makes projects look super cheerful, don’t you think?
If you are anything like me, you might need a little reminder which colours you can find in a rainbow … Here they are again:

  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Indigo
  • Violet

For the challenge, you can use the colours in that particular order or you can just use them all somewhere on your card / project. You can pick pastel shades or bright tones! I chose to go with bright rainbow colours in no particular order … And this is my card:

To colour the Toucan from Krumspring’s “Tou-can Do It” and the beautiful flower image from “For My Sunflower”, I used my Copic markers. For the flowers, I went with parts of the rainbow order but mixed it up a bit. To create the light blue ‘sky’ background I took a pigment ink and did some inkblending on the cardstock-which I haven’t really tried before with that type of ink but since it worked very well I will definetely do it again in the future!

On the Toucan image I used all rainbow colours as well, and some dark gray / black. I googled pictures of these birds before I started colouring, and used them as a reference. There are Toucans in a lot of different colour variations, it’s amazing!
To finish off the colouring I added some dots with a white gel pen.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the rainbow colours challenge!! ♥

Toucan do it with Maria

Hello Crafty Friends and Krumspring Fans,

Maria here – I’m glad to be back at the Krumspringshop-Blog with two encouraging cards.

For my first card, I used the incredible “One triangle at a time” Stamp Set and combined it with the beautiful “Tou-can do it!” Stamp Set.

I water colored the triangle Stamp with my Zig Markers in different shades of blue. Then I diecutted the lettering “TOUCAN DO IT”.

Afterwards I stamped the Toucan, water colored und fussy cut him. I stamped another Sentiment on black cardstock, then heat white embossed.

Then I mounted all pieces on a piece of white cardstock using dimensional foam tape and embellished the cardfront with some Clear Sparkling Sequins and the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

And the end I mounted the Cardfront on the white cardbase using dimensional foam tape.

One Triangle at a Time

For my second card, I used again the “Tou-can do it!” Stamp Set.

I stamped the lucky clover in different shades of green on a piece of white cardstock using dye inks.

Then I diecutted the cardfront with a circle die and diecutted another circle from white cardstock.

I stamped the Toucan on the circle, colored him with Copic Markers and added some Distress Ink on the border using a mini ink blending tool.

Then I mounted the Cardfront on the white cardbase using dimensional foam tape. I added the circle using double sided tape.

I stamped two Sentiments on black cardstock, then heat white embossed and mounted them on the cardfront using dimensional foam tape.

Some Clear Sparkling Sequins and the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen finished the card

Believe In Yourself with Anna

Hello, Anna is here with my first card I created being the dream team member.

Here I played with Tou-can do it! and One Triangle at a Time stamp sets.

I started with the creating of the background – I white embossed One Triangle at a Time stamp and then blended with three shades of green Distress inks. After that I sprinkled the background with the water – small spots add more dimensions to the card.

Then I colored and fussy cut the toucan – I googled how it looks)) I really enjoyed to color its beak!

Also I added the green scalloped edge and the brown branch, and assembled all elements together.

The last detail is white embossed on the green cardstock sentiment.

Have a good day!

You Rock card with Rosali

Hi, Rosali here! I’m super excited to share my first blog post here for Krumspring Stamps!

For Christmas I got a lot of lovely mail from crafty friends so I thought it would be a good idea to stock up on thank you cards … So this is what I will be showing you today!
I used three Krumspring sets for this project: Happiness Overload, You Rock! and Tou-can Do It!

Here is how I made the card:

  1. Repeated stamping for the background
I don’t know about you but I just looove Polka dots! So I used the biggest dot from the Happiness Overload set to create my own Polka dot pattern in fresh yellow and green colors! You could draw in some lines with a pencil and ruler first to make sure everthing will be evenly placed but I just eyeballed it! ☺ I got a little blotch at that one green dot but I decided to leave it as is and cover it up later when I assemble the card.

2. The beautiful bird from Tou-can Do It! will be the focus point of my card and I wanted it to have that dark black for contrast but also some beautiful, vibrant red and yellow colours (to match the partly yellow background). To chose the Copic markers I wanted to use I started by googling some pictures of Toucans and ended up using mainly these colours:

3. Putting the card together
Besides the background piece and the coloured bird I chose the big heart from You Rock! as my third main element. First, I did some red ink blending with Distress Inks and dye ink on a piece of watercolour paper. After it was dry I stamped the heart on top and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I assembled my card using some foam tape for dimension and a few sequins and tiny rhinestones as embellishments. This is the finished thank you card:

I hope you like it! Happy Saturday, everybody! ♥
