Dream Team Inspiration: For my Koala Bear + Diagonal stripes

Hello there and happy monday 🙂

If you are looking for the blog hop post – it is right here.

Today the Dream Team are showing off their creations with the two new stamp sets: “For My Koala Bear” and “Diagonal Stripes” 🙂

For My koala bear

Tina Says: What a darling set! That cutie ist holding his baby. So I drew a little branch for it to create a little scene. I colored everything with Copic markers. I really wanted to showcase those koala bears so my design was clean and simple. Sentiment is from Lucky Me.

Dana Says: I stamped images from For My Koala Bear and colored them using copic markers. I then created jump roping scene for them. Sentiments are from Monkey Madness stamp set.

Diagonal Stripes

Natalie says: The Diagonal Stripes are so useful for stamping a background pattern to suit any colour or theme. For this card I first stamped it in pink, and then slightly moved it forward before stamping again in coral.

This technique makes it look almost like the stripes have a shadow which is kinda cool. I was deliberate in not making them perfect because I prefer this more rustic look. I finished the card with the Koala Bear stamps – stamping and cutting out a few of the leaves to layer in the corners of the window before popping the koala up on foam dots to make him the focal point.

Janni says: Ohhh am I glad for this new stamp ‘Diagonal Stripes‘. Now it is possible to make my stripes in exactly the color I want. I made these two card with distress ink, and used the sentiment from ‘You are awesome’ stamp set.

Janni says: I made this card with something new and something old. For the background I used pink on the new ‘Diagonal Stripes’ and I colored up my very first Krumspring stamp the amazing heart from ‘You Rock’ in mint colors. The sentiment is from ‘Bloom’.

Janni says: For this card I used ‘Diagonal Stripes‘ stamp. I stamped distress ink on the stamp in my misti and sprayed water before stamping, to get blurry look. I wanted to bring out a feeling of light coming out of the dark. The sentiment is from “You Make Me Fly”.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope our wonderful Dream Team ladies have left you feeling inspired!
Hugs, Maria

Take Me Away with Erica

Hello, hello! Erica on the Krumspring blog today.

I’ve only got one card today but it’s bright and cheerful, which has recently been my card MO. This one is also a bit soppy as I made it for my husband. He’s currently away scoping out the new place we are moving to in a few months and I’m missing him a little bit. I’m also feeling quite excited to go there myself and see it all.

Right, back to the card. That’s what you are all here for, isn’t it? Not listen to me jibber-jabber on about the non-crafty side of my life, lol!

I started with the You Make Me Fly stamp set and grabbed my Zig markers. Before I stamped the balloon cluster and the teddy bear with VersaMark ink I used my anti-static tool on the watercolour card stock and then sprinkled white embossing powder on it. I set it with my heat tool and got to work! As I wanted something really bright and happy, I decided to do a rainbow coloured cluster of balloons. The bottom balloon got coloured yellow and then I worked my way through the colours until I was out of balloons. The little teddy bear I also coloured in with the Zig markers. Once both pieces were dry, I fussy cut them out and set them aside.

For my background I also used the Zig markers but only two light blue ones. I swish-swashed these loosely all over the panel. I sped up the drying process with the heat tool and then loosened up the colour a little bit in places where I thought it needed it and then set it with the heat tool again. The anti-static tool came out again as I decided to add some clouds to the background. The cloud stamp I used came from the Adventures Ahead set and I stamped it randomly all over the panel before adding the white embossing powder again.

The sentiments I decided to use both come from the You Make Me Fly set. I stamped the two I picked out in different shades of blue ink on white card stock and then cut them out. I started assembling the card and placed all the bits where I thought they should be before adhering them to the card using foam tape. This is always my process when making a card as I don’t want to stick anything down before I’m sure that’s where it should go. The same with sequins. And speaking of sequins.. I may have added a few of those too, even though this card is for The Man and he’s not a bling-lover but oh well. He knows I am and will probably love the card more for what I write inside of it rather than what’s on the outside.

Ok, well, that’s it from me for this time. I hope you like the card and will feel inspired to make one yourself, no matter the occasion. The two stamp sets I’ve used for this card have got to be two of my top five faves from Krumspring stamps. They are so cute and fun to colour, I can recommend adding these to your stash for sure!

Have a great week and see you all soon again!

Happy crafting from Erica

Release Inspiration with Rowena

I’m so excited to be introducing some new stamps for an upcoming release for June 3. So get ready for a whole lot of awesomeness coming your way this week from the entire dream team.

For my first card, I used the ‘You Are Awesome’ stamp. This stamp is perfect for creating beautiful and unique backgrounds for any of your projects but for my card I used it to create a whimsical moon to create my night scene 😉

  1. First I white heat embossed the large scribbly (is that even a word? Oh well it is now! Hehe!!) circle stamp from the ‘You Are Awesome’ stamp.
  2. I masked my moon and blended chipped sapphire, blueprint sketched, faded jeans, and mermaid lagoon distress inks. I added a little bit of black soot to tone down the blues.
  3. I then splattered white paint and perfect pearls for added shine (it’s hard to see on the photo, but trust me it’s shiny) 😉
  4. To finished the scene, I colored the cute hanging bear from the ‘You Make Me Fly’ stamp in copics and the tiny star from ‘Star Power‘ stamp.
  5. To finish my card I used the Believe in Yourself sentiment from ‘Tou-can Do It‘ stamp.

That completes the first card!

As soon as I saw the monkeys from the ‘Monkey Madness’ stamp set, I immediately had an idea in my head. So, for my second card I was inspired by the movie King Kong! Hehe!! A cuter and a lot less scary version of the movie! 😁

For this card I created a fun and cute birthday card. Where King Kong is holding on to some heart balloons and is hanging from the side of a building.

1. I created a loose watercolor sky using a wet on wet technique. I used salty ocean distress ink.

2. I extended the ‘Pixelate Me‘ stamp and created a building, a pattern which I found on the internet. Colored my image in copics.

3. I stamp the heart and made it into balloons. Using a copic friendly pen.

4. I colored all my images in copics and to finish the card I stamp the sentiment from the same set.

I hope you had fun today and got excited for the upcoming release!!! There are many more beautiful and fun cards coming your way from the rest of the dream team so stay tuned!!! Thanks again for stopping by!!!

Happy Crafting!!!

Confirmation Cards with Maria

Hello there!
In Denmark May is the big months for Confirmations. That means happy teens, garden parties, church and togetherness 🙂 (Is that a word?). It’s a big deal!

My own cousin had his Confirmation May 12 – I cannot believe he is already so big. He was my favourite little buddy when he was a kid. Of course I had to create some cards for him! Both from our family and his parents requested a card for him and his friend.

Let’s get to it 🙂

For my first card I went with a Galaxy/adventure theme. I have been on a big Galaxy spree since Rosali visited and we experimented with creating different Galaxy backgrounds with different mediums. SUPER fun!

I was inspired by a card I saw on Instagram by @Irishandcraft to combine the You Make Me Fly balloon with this cute little astronaut. And it was the perfect match for my Galaxy craze 🙂 For the text I heat embossed text from Favoritsæt (danish text stamp) in white.

This is the card I made for my cousin from his parents. It is a big card – European A5. I never make cards this big, but it was a super fun challenge and I love how it turned out.

I did the sunburst background in green Distress Inks inspired by Laura Bassen and Rosali. I used four different colours, and alternated so it fitted with the 12 rooms I randomly sketched with a ruler.

For the green “sun” I used one of my favourite and most used stamps – Colourful Triangle Vibe. The text is from Konfirmand, which is the Danish Confirmation stampset I created for this season. It is sold out for now though 🙂

My last card is a combination of the first two. The balloons from You Make Me Fly and Konfirmand stampsets are the main focal point. The church is included in stampset. This card is also a big one in European A5 size.

I love making those Distress Ink clouds, but it takes me a few tries every time. So I have some extras that need some cover-up action 🙂 I rarely throw things out, because I am a big believer in the power of recycling.

I hope you are enjoying your monday and May 🙂
I will be leaving for New York thursday morning and I am SO excited!

Tomorrow another fun Spotlight will go live ! This one is super fun and contains one of our most popular stampsets.

Hugs, Maria

Baby card with Sharna

Hello there!

Sharna here today 🙂

I was so excited when a long time friend of mine told me she was pregnant with baby #2 who has been a loooong time coming. I will spare you the details but baby #1 was 16 years ago! So for this much anticipated baby I knew I needed a super sweet card. I picked up the Shoot for the Moon & the You Make Me Fly stamp sets and got to work.

I white heat embossed my chosen images onto some Tim Holtz watercolor paper. The key to this is to heat it just enough to melt the powder but not to long that it sinks into the watercolor paper. For the watercoloring of the images I used my favorite medium, distress inks. The sentiment is a die from Lawn Fawn combined with the baby stamp out of the sentiment set The Necessary One which has sentiments for a whole heck of a lot of occasions. Lastly I added a few star sequins to set the scene off. Oh and a bit of Wink of Stella in certain sections of the moon.

Have a great day!

Release 5 – Inspiration with Maria P

Hello Crafty Friends and Krumspring Fans,

Maria here, it’s time for a new Krumspring Stamps release and here is what I came up with.

For my first card, I used the awesome “Spread your wings” Stamp Set.
When I thought about I need a butterfly Stamp Set, Maria sent it to me. That’s telepathy.
I took the big butterfly Stamp to create my own background using a Copic friendly dye Ink. Then I colored all butterflies with my Copic Markers.
I stamped the Sentiment on a piece of pink Cardstock, then heat white embossed and diecutted.
Then I mounted the background on the cardbase using dimensional foam tape and added the Sentiment. I embellished the card with some clear Sequins.

For my second card, I used three different Stamp Sets = “Adventures Ahead”, The Necessary One” and “You make me fly”
First I made my own cloud background using a Selfmade Stencil, a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Distress Inks. Then I stamped the balloons and the bear on a piece of white cardstock, then heat white embossed and colored with Copic Markers.
After fussy cutted I mounted all pieces on the cardfront using dimensional foam tape.
Then I mounted the Cardfront on the white cardbase using dimensional foam tape too.
A little bit of twine and some Pink and Yellow Sequins finished the card

Have a lovely day!

Love, Maria

Spring Festival Challenge 2 – Rowena

Hello friends!

Rowena here and today’s challenge is Easter! Create any projects or cards with an Easter theme.

Here’s how I created mine! I wanted to create a card with added details.

For example, for the grass, I white heat embossed ‘One Triangle at a Time‘ and I used a grass die (any grass die you have will do) to make the grass. The triangles just adds a bit of interest to the grass! Then I blended mowed lawn and twisted citron distress inks. Flicked some water for that distress look.

I white heat embossed  ‘You Pixelate Me‘ to create pattern to my tree and sun. Then die cut the sun and the tree. I blended squeezed lemonade  and wild honey for the sun. Twisted citron and forest moss for the tree.

I think using these two stamps just adds a bit of something to your plain paper, when die cutting any image. You can totally add pattern to any die cuts you have. The cute little house is from the ‘You make me Fly‘ stamp set. I colored the image in copics and then fussy cut. The bunny and Easter basket is colored in copics as well.To finish the card I heat embossed silver for the sentiment.

That finishes the card for today!

Releaseweek Inspiration With Erica

Hello, hello and welcome to another day of reveals of the new release here at Krumspring Stamps!

As soon as I saw the balloons in the You Make Me Fly set from this new release, I knew I had to use them and boy, did I! I am so excited to share a couple of cards with you today, I couldn’t stop at just one as per usual although I used different mediums on both to achieve the looks. Let’s get to it, shall we?

For my first card I decided to use yellow for all the balloons as yellow is Maria’s favourite colour. After I stamped up the balloons on Clairefontaine cold pressed 300g/140lb water colour paper using my new favourite ink for Zig Clean Color markers: My Favorite Things hybrid ink in Black Licorice, I let loose with the colours. At first I thought I’d do an ombré look but it didn’t look quite right from the start, instead I tried mixing the shades on the balloons to make it more three-dimensional. I adore the Zig markers but do think there is a distinct lack of yellows in there. Three markers out of eighty? There is room for improvement for sure.

Once the balloons were coloured in, I set that aside to dry while I coloured the little teddy bear. He’s so cute! I wanted to give him a well-used and well-loved look, much like my own teddy bear that is 30+years old. As soon as these images were dry enough to fussy cut out, I did just that.

For the background, I wanted a cloud-filled sky and cut out a big selection of clouds as at first I thought I’d cover the whole background with them but it ended up looked too white. Even with the stitched cloud die and the textured linen card stock I used, it was way too flat and boring for my liking. It might not be a surprise that I went with an ink blended background for the sky that is peeking out at the top to counteract that. It’s become one of my favourite ways to create backgrounds, the possibilities are simply endless! I used Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks for a really rich and vibrant blue sky. A few droplets of water was also splattered on it and dried off for that lovely dotted look.

The stitched clouds I cut out earlier were adhered to the background using foam tape on each layer for lots of dimension. I then added the teddy and his cluster of balloons over the top and stamped the sentiment ‘Let’s fly away’ in the bottom right corner in black ink.

As usual, I couldn’t stop there… oh no, not me. I got both my glossy accents and some sequins out. Oh yes, I did! The glossy accents I used both to adhere the sequins I picked out and to cover some of the balloons to make them pop a bit. It was getting dark when I did this and I didn’t notice that there were lots of air bubbles in a lot of them so they dried like that. Lesson learnt for next time!

For card no2 I again used the balloon stamp but this time I coloured them in with my copics and used lots of different colours! I also cut out a few of them at the top to create a heart-shape because I’m soppy like that.

That gorgeous linen card stock was used again but this time for the background and I layered it with a cloud cutout that I had ink blended using Broken China, Salty Ocean and a tiny bit of Blueprint Sketch distress inks. The linen texture peeking through the cutouts adds nice interest to the clouds without too much fuss.

In true form, I thought the balloons still looked a bit flat. Yes! Even with all those colours…! Crazy, isn’t it?? Well, I got my sequins out again and it’s the same as I used on the first card. This is a new fusion mix from Studio Katia called ‘Crystal Rainbow Fusion’ and I love it. LOVE IT! It’s so fun and sparkly.

I matched up balloon colour and sequins in different sizes and I wasn’t frugal here. Nope. Not at all. Using the sequins, I tried enhancing the heart shape and it might not be to everyone’s liking, but I think it’s fun! Again, I used the glossy accents to adhere them. The balloons themselves are adhered to the card using 3mm thick foam tape to really make it pop off the base.

For a sentient, I used ‘You lift my mood’ and I stamped that on a small banner I had cut out of linen paper. My idea was to have the banner hanging from the strings of the balloons and be carried off to the recipient. With a bit of double sided tape on the back of the banner and armed with sparkly white twine, I wrapped the twine around the banner and made a “hanger” to be attached to the bottom of the string cluster. A nice big bow finished off the look and I also wrapped one of the loose ends around the “hanger” to make sure it doesn’t fall off.

And that, friends, was it! Here are my two contributions to celebrate this new release but you can bet your cookie there will be more coming.

Happy crafting everyone!

You Make Me Fly

Releaseweek Inspiration With Rowena

Hi there! Rowena here and today I have 4 fun projects to share, featuring some brand new stamps for an upcoming release(yes! our fearless leader has outdone herself again) Hehe!!! So let’s get started.

For my first card, I used the ‘You Pixelate Me‘ stamp set. Growing up and even as an adult we all enjoyed a little game of Tetris. So, my card is a play on the game.

I created different pieces based on the game and colored them with copics.

I then fussy cut the image and adhered it with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment to finish the card. I just love this stamp!! The possibilities are endless.

For my second card, I’m featuring ‘You make me Fly‘ stamp set. This stamp can be used in so many ways. Here’s my take….

I created the sky by blending distress inks: mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass. I sprinkled some water and mermaid lagoon to add some interest to the background.

The grass was done by creating a stencil. I blended twisted citron and mowed lawn distress inks. After blending, I sprinkled some water and mowed lawn. I elevated the panel, so I blended the same thing on the card base.

The cute little house, balloons, and geometric tree are all colored with copics and fussy cut. I added foam tape and adhered to the card.

Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set in white on a piece of black cardstock.

For my 3rd card, I’m featuring the adorable caveman from ‘For my Caveman‘ stamp set.

As soon as I saw this stamp I immediately knew I had to create some painted rocks.

I first stamped the caveman, then stamped the sentiment just below the image(or anywhere you like), then I drew random rocks with an archival pen. Your rocks can be any shapes or sizes you like. That’s the fun part!

I watercolored the rocks with combinations of browns, grays, yellows, and reds watercolor. Sandy Allnock has a fantastic tutorial on her youtube channel you should check out (Link here).

To finish the card, I simply colored the rest of the images using watercolor as well. That finishes the card.

For my last and final card, I used the ‘For My Sunflower‘ stamp set. This stamp is so versatile, you can either stamp it on it’s own or as a cluster, like I did for this card.

I first stamped the image focusing mostly on the corner of the card and only stamping the top portion of the sunflower. I masked the first flower and randomly stamped the others.

I watercolored the sunflowers in yellows and oranges (even a bit of brown). The center was colored in brown. I added some grays around the sunflowers to make the image pop. I flicked some gray and white paint as well, to add a bit of interest. I then stamped a thank you sentiment to finish the card.

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and got inspired. All featured stamps will be ready for purchase February 4. Yay!!

Till next time!! Thank you 🙂
