Summer Theme Week part 3

Happy friyay!
Best day of the week 🙂 And in Denmark, the summer has completely disappeared – the rain is pouring down and it is also quite cold. Lol – that is the heart of the Danish summer though.

We still have our Summer Sale going on in the shop – click on the photo to go directly to the sales page in the webshop.

Today we have Janni and Dana sharing some amazing summer cards. All these summer cards have really made me want to get my craft on!

Dana

Dana is the master of thinking outside the box – she created this amazing summer card with the Leo starsign for summer birthdays. Love that she used the doodle from You Are Awesome to created this beautiful galaxy for the starsign.

Janni

This Monkey Madness gorilla is just too cool for school – and the yellow You Make Me Fly balloons! Well count me in 🙂

Love that Janni challenged herself with the bright yellows instead of her usual pastels 🙂 The Adventures Ahead hot air balloons pairs perfect with the sentiment from You Are Awesome.

Hello there cutie / Monkey Madness 🙂 So cute right? And she even snuck in some pastel colour for the Funky Pineapples.

Well now the Dream Team is on summer holiday for July but they will be back with a BANG for our Anniversary celebration in August 🙂 🙂 🙂

Wishing you all an amazing summer.

Hugs

Beautiful Butterflies with Tina

Hi guys!
I am back on the Krumspring blog with some new inspiration for you – this time I dedicated my craftyness to the beauuuutiful stamp set called „Spread your wings“. I made two cards; one is on the clean and simple side and the other one is acutally made from leftovers of previous projects. I am sure you all know this: you start with a cards, you have some certain ideas in your head and in the end it looks completely different, LOL. So never, never throw away anything you might have created while your card making process, one day you will have the perfect occasion using it!

So let’s get started with my first card ☺

I heat embossed the butterflies onto vellum (120g/m2, quite heavy) with white embossing powder and fussy cut them out. Using a heavy vellum makes them nice and sturdy. So I diecut a stitched panel of craft cardstock and adhered both butterflies with gluedots underneath the body (this way, the gluedots won’t show off). Then I simply added a diecut „hello“ (I cut it out three times for a nice dimension) plus the word „beautiful“ (from the same set), also white heat embossed onto black cardstock and glued them onto the panel as well. Some white Nuvo drops finished off my very clean an simple card. It took me about 15 minutes to create it. I think although it’s CAS, it is still sweet and feminine. So if you are in a hurry lately, this might be a card you wanna try out! 😉

So we jump right to my second card which is made out of leftovers:

I made this pretty watercolor background for a previous card project and in the end I didn’t use it. I have a drawer full of things I began but never finished. So I grabbed for that panel because I thought the colors would be a nice background for my pretty vellum butterflies. To add more interest, I decided to diecut a frame out of glittery cardstock. I heat embossed the big „Happy“ in white and the small „birthday“ in gold. They are both included in the set „The Necessary One“. I added some sparkling sequins to imitate the trail of the smaller butterfly. As I already hat the watercolor panel, this card was also finished in about 20 minutes. It is always a highlight for me finishing a card in such a short time – I need more or less 3 hours for one card in the average ☺ ☺.
I hope you got inspired and give your leftovers a good home on a card very soon!
Have an amazing day! Hugs – Tina

Spread Your Wings

The Necessary One

Take Me Away with Erica

Hello, hello! Erica on the Krumspring blog today.

I’ve only got one card today but it’s bright and cheerful, which has recently been my card MO. This one is also a bit soppy as I made it for my husband. He’s currently away scoping out the new place we are moving to in a few months and I’m missing him a little bit. I’m also feeling quite excited to go there myself and see it all.

Right, back to the card. That’s what you are all here for, isn’t it? Not listen to me jibber-jabber on about the non-crafty side of my life, lol!

I started with the You Make Me Fly stamp set and grabbed my Zig markers. Before I stamped the balloon cluster and the teddy bear with VersaMark ink I used my anti-static tool on the watercolour card stock and then sprinkled white embossing powder on it. I set it with my heat tool and got to work! As I wanted something really bright and happy, I decided to do a rainbow coloured cluster of balloons. The bottom balloon got coloured yellow and then I worked my way through the colours until I was out of balloons. The little teddy bear I also coloured in with the Zig markers. Once both pieces were dry, I fussy cut them out and set them aside.

For my background I also used the Zig markers but only two light blue ones. I swish-swashed these loosely all over the panel. I sped up the drying process with the heat tool and then loosened up the colour a little bit in places where I thought it needed it and then set it with the heat tool again. The anti-static tool came out again as I decided to add some clouds to the background. The cloud stamp I used came from the Adventures Ahead set and I stamped it randomly all over the panel before adding the white embossing powder again.

The sentiments I decided to use both come from the You Make Me Fly set. I stamped the two I picked out in different shades of blue ink on white card stock and then cut them out. I started assembling the card and placed all the bits where I thought they should be before adhering them to the card using foam tape. This is always my process when making a card as I don’t want to stick anything down before I’m sure that’s where it should go. The same with sequins. And speaking of sequins.. I may have added a few of those too, even though this card is for The Man and he’s not a bling-lover but oh well. He knows I am and will probably love the card more for what I write inside of it rather than what’s on the outside.

Ok, well, that’s it from me for this time. I hope you like the card and will feel inspired to make one yourself, no matter the occasion. The two stamp sets I’ve used for this card have got to be two of my top five faves from Krumspring stamps. They are so cute and fun to colour, I can recommend adding these to your stash for sure!

Have a great week and see you all soon again!

Happy crafting from Erica

Loose watercolor background with Rowena

Hi friends!! It’s Rowena here I’m back with a simple card using ‘ You are Awesome‘ and ‘Spread Your Wings‘ stamps.

For my card today, I wanted to create a card using my favorite technique…a loose blended watercolor background!! It’s one of my go-to technique when I want to create that watercolor look.

Let’s get started shall we!!! 😊

I wanted to add interest onto my card panel and the ‘You are Awesome‘ is the perfect stamp for the job! This is such a awesome stamp(pun intended 😉) for making your own unique background or using it as a focal point on your projects.

To create my background, I white heat embossed the scribbly circles focusing mostly on top of my panel.

I did a bit of ink blending using mustard seed distress ink. I then lightly sprayed the panel with clean water and with the help of a waterbrush moved the colors even more to achive that loose watercolor look. I added a bit of wild honey distress ink just to brighten the yellows more. Sprinkled yellows and purple to add more interest to the card.

Next I simply colored the cute little butterflies from ‘Spread your Wings‘ stamp with watercolor. I kept the colors simple and fun. I added a bit of shimmer and foam tape to give the butterflies a bit of dimension. I added the sentiment from the same set to complete the card.

Hope you all like today’s post!!! Till next time and happy crafting everyone😘

Hugs,
Rowena

Colourful triangle backgrounds with Rosali

Hi, Rosali here!

Today I want to show you two ways to make a coloured background the star of your design! I’m sure you all know how Maria’s stamp line started with her drawings of triangles and they are still some of my favorite images from her stamp designs! I was very excited when I held the “Awesome Triangle Wizard” background from the latest release in my hands for the first time and because I like it so much I chose it as my focus for this blog post!

For card no. 1 I use the ink smooshing technique. Which means, I smooshed some Distress Ink minis on a piece of laminated cardstock (you could also use a craft mat or an acrylic block), spritzed it with water and then tapped the heat embossed background panel into it several times holding it at different angles.

I dried the paper in between and tapped some more. After that I coloured some of the triangles with the leftover ink and a small brush. This method was inspired by a video by Kristina Werner, one of my favorite crafty Youtubers ever!

To keep the whole background visible I stamped my sentiment “You Are Awesome” from the same-named stamp set on vellum. A few sequins on top-finished!

On card no. 2 I tried out colouring with coloured pencils on black cardstock, something I wanted to do since I got my pencils! I saved up for a set of Luminance pencils earlier this year and they are supposed to look great on dark cardstock! 🙂

To get an idea of where to colour I stamped the center part of “Awesome Triangle Wizard” using a white pigment ink. In hintsight I would have used a second generation impression or a darker ink as some of the white ink showed through where I didn’t wanted it in the end. To fix it I went over these areas with a black marker, problem solved!

I chose the beautiful big “Happy” from “The Necessary One” and the small “Birthday” from “Monkey Madness” for my sentiment. I kept it in simple black and white to avoid drawing attention from my pencil colouring.

The triangle background took me about two hours to colour but all the different colours created a pretty unique look, don’t you think?

I hope you have an amazing day! ♥

YOU ARE AWESOME

When I saw You Are Awesome set, I wanted to create a galaxy background.
So, I grab my Gansai Tambi watercolor and paint galaxy background on 300gr watercolor paper.
Let it dry and then white heat embossed the doodle circle and stars from Star power set.
I finished off my card by added here and there some sequins.

Birthday cards with Dana

Hello, Krumspring friends!

It’s Dana here coming back with two birthday cards to share with you. Let’s get started!

For my first card, I started by white heat embossing the triangle background from Awesome Triangle Wizard stamp. I ink blended it with dye inks using mini blending tool. I then die cut it with letter dies. At this time, I saved negative pieces for next card 🙂

I heat embossed again with butterfly image from Spread Your Wings stamp set using gold tinsel embossing powder on vellum paper. I fussy cut it with scissors.

Next, I trimmed black card stock as shown in the picture. I then adhered glittery papers matching with front panel’s colors.

To finish, I mounted triangle panel on the white card base using glue tape and foam mounted black panels, too. Lastly, I embellished gem stickers around butterfly.

For second card, I combined Tou-can do it! stamp set and Funky Pineapples stamp set.

To start, I stamped toucan images with distress ink, Antique Linen two times onto different papers. I colored them with alcohol markers using no line technique. I then fussy cut the one of their wings and adhered it to the other toucan. Do you remember my very first DT card I made for Krumspring stamps? I think I love flying toucan! Haha.

I then die cut hearts in two sizes from white card stock and yellow-green vellum paper. I stamped pineapples using masking technique with Versafine Onyx black (line image) and dye inks (solid image). To vellum heart, I applied Wink of Stella brush. And I glued them each other like gift packet for toucan’s friend.

Next, I adhered silver glittery washi tapes each side of A2 sized white card base. I mounted watercolor look paper on it and arranged all pieces where I wanted them using foam adhesive and glue. To finish, I embellished clear sequins here and there.

Hope you enjoyed these cards! Have a happy weekend!

Love,
Dana

Funky Pineapples

Guest Designer Michelle Short – part 2

Hello there, Michelle here and I am delighted to be back sharing a card I have made with the Funky Pineapples set. What a fun set! It is so versatile and I love the designs on the pineapples.

I started off by stamping one of the pineapples on to a piece of white cardstock, using black ink. I coloured the pineapple using Copic Markers and then fussy it out using scissors. I took a piece of Bristol paper and blended over some Distress ink, spritzed with water and then once dry, I die cut it using a stitched square die. This was added on to a yellow 4.25” square card base with tape runner.

I took the ‘hello there’ sentiment from the Monkey Madness set and stamped it on to some black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and then heat set. I cut the strip in to two with a craft knife. This was added to the card with foam tape. I then added the funky pineapple with a mini action wobble and added google eyes to him. It is difficult to see in the photos, but the action wobble gives the pineapple lots of dimension and it is so fun when it wobbles!

A big thank you goes to Maria and the Krumspring team for having me guest with them this month. I have really enjoyed it!

Best wishes,

Michelle
